  1. 佛教用語。禪師啟發弟子開悟的方法。或用棒打，或大聲一喝，或棒喝交施，使弟子於當下開悟。《續傳燈錄·卷二五·東京淨因蹣菴·繼成禪師》：「茫茫盡是覓佛漢，舉世難尋閑道人；棒喝交馳成藥忘，了忘藥忌未天真。」
