  1. 以短小的刀、劍等武器交手搏鬥。比喻面對面激烈的搏打、爭鬥。《宋史·卷四五二·忠義傳七·劉惟輔傳》：「黎明軍進，短兵相接，殺傷大當。」也作「短兵接戰」。
